How We Verify Every Statute
Official sources only
Every figure on this site — deadlines, interest rates, penalties, deposit limits — is traced to an official government source: the state legislature's published code, a municipal code library, or an official rate publication (e.g., a rent board's annual interest rate notice). Blogs, law-firm marketing pages, and aggregator sites are never used as sources.
One source of truth
The rules live in a single dataset. Pages and the calculator all render from it — no legal fact is ever hand-typed into a page. If a rule can't be verified, the jurisdiction doesn't ship: we'd rather publish fewer correct pages than 59 unverified ones.
Verification cadence
Every row carries a verification date (shown below and on each page). Our build fails automatically if any jurisdiction's verification is older than 15 months, forcing an annual re-verification sprint. Jurisdictions with annually-set interest rates (Chicago, San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Connecticut, Maryland) are re-checked each January when new rates publish.
Correction policy
Reports to [email protected] are checked against the official statute. Confirmed errors are fixed in the dataset and redeployed, and the jurisdiction's verification date is updated.

Rendered directly from the dataset at build time — this table cannot drift from what the calculator uses.
